	Wilderness:

	These trails are in a wilderness area that, though it does have human traffic, also serves as home for wildlife, such as bears and cougar. Every precaution needs to be taken, not to leave one's party vulnerable, and not to teach, especially bears, to identify humans as a source of food. Hang your food properly every night.

	Emergency:

	In the case of an emergency, know where you are, know the nearest exit, and carry a cell phone. Cell service is possible along the majority of the trail, but not everywhere. In most places without service, seeking a line of sight to Texada Island or the Strait of Georgia (usually possible within a few kilometres) will give you a usable signal.
