Wilderness:

Raising the Bar

The views on the walk out from KM 126 which is only a half minute behind at 0 mins.

Logs left from a previous logging effort at 1.3 mins.

The darkening trail is a drivable road at 3.6 mins.

Dark rock face to the left at 11.2 mins.

A lighter view out over the ocean at 11.6 mins.

Shadows and hues at 11.9 mins.

The turn down is just past that log at 15.6 mins.

Which makes this an interesting turn to make in a 4x4 at 15.9 mins.

More wide roadbed at 22.1 mins.

And plenty of turn off and park areas at 23.9 mins.

Ever darker the road seems to close in from both sides at 30.2 mins.

Sunset colours behind the trees at 33.3 mins.

One of the rocks that make this a more difficult 4x4 road at 40.5 mins.

It is all dark as I meet the pickup point, with no vehicle there at 50.6 mins.

Seven minutes later the headlights appear of a truck waiting for me at 57.1 mins.

This is simply following the logging roads down to the point where a vehicle can meet you. A well equipped 4x4 can make it 99% of the way, a smaller vehicle will be best to stay on the Duck Lake Road.

It is about an hour and ten minutes down to a pickup on the Duck Lake Road. Going in reverse, ascending from 360 metre up to 630, would take much longer.
