This trail starts where the road to Granite Lake has been blocked. Every year or so someone tries to take a 4x4 around the block and ends up calling a wrecker to get them out.

The trail is a simple ascent up the mostly rocky logging road.

After passing Granite Lake and a trail back down to the Sweetwater Trail, the road continues on to a Y, where the Sunshine Coast Trail comes in from the left and enters the woods to the right, up to Walt Hill.

The trail takes about 40 minutes. Add time for heavy packs, subtract some time if you hike fast or do not stop for photos or lunch breaks. Starting at 560 metre the trail climbs to 710 metre.
