The whole Appleton Creek Falls Trail forms a crescent starting off of Tomkinson Road ( a fork off Wilde Road, which turns off from Highway 101 just north of Sliammon) and ending on Tomkinson Road roughly 2 km further closer to to the ocean, just past a bridge over Appleton Creek. The Sunshine Coast Trail joins the Appleton Creek Trail at the Appleton Creek Recreation Area, a picnic and campsite (with an outhouse about 5 mins -400 metre -up the Tomkinson Road side.)

The Trail is the best white water, water falls trail of the entire Sunshine Coast Trail, and is very accessible as a simple 2.2 km hike, if one has two vehicles, or an up and back hike of 4.4 km, or even a short in from the top and back out the top of as little as .8 km.
